Background

When I came to Germany at the age of 15, I had no money for a language course. The Jobcenter rejected my application to cover the costs because I was a minor. However, I wanted to resume my education, which I had interrupted due to the war in Syria. I prepared for my trip to Germany and completed the language level A1 in Aleppo. However, I had to leave shortly after and set out on the escape route. I (Noah) have always been passionate about the German language and learned it at the age of 15 when I came to Germany as an unaccompanied refugee minor.

Noah's Class was born about 2 years ago in a dormitory in Dresden. I used to shoot tutorials for learning German with my smartphone and upload them to different social media channels. By now, the channel has reached 10,000+ subscribers on YouTube and Instagram.

Mission

Starting a business means standing for change, science and innovation. Noahwants to modernize language education with the possibilities of today and make it accessible to everyone. Because language is the key to the first door in a new society.

 

If you have ever done research on a language trip, you know that you must be privileged to be able to participate in such. Nowadays we cannot afford to sell integration or education as a luxury good. Language courses for adults are not financed from the B1+ level on. In order to work/study in Germany, higher language proficiency is needed. We want to help migrants or foreign workers to feel comfortable in their new home. This requires them to be able to communicate with others. Shortly before I registered the company, I asked myself how Noah's Class could be different. A book suggested to me thanks to algorithms gave me an answer:

 

"Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment".

Education for all

"Education for all" means that everyone should have access to our language courses regardless of gender, age, social background, nationality, possible disabilities or other factors.

 

What we have done in this regard so far:

  • Kept course fees low to provide access for all.

  • Tolerance, openness and interest towards other cultures
